Are you into customizing your own garments?  Do you have a lot of your garments customized with screen printing?  If that’s the case, are you printing with plastisol inks or are you having your garments decorated with water based silk screen printing?  If you like custom silk screen printing and you haven’t tried it using water based inks, then you might be missing out!  Water based silk screen printing is great way to add prints to garments that are ultra soft!

Water Based Silk Screen Printing

So before we go too far ahead, let’s define what water based silk screen printing is first.  Screen printing is a decoration method that uses silk screens like you would a stencil to apply colored inks to garments.  Often silk screen printing is done with plastisol inks because they are easily reclaimed and they won’t dry up in the screen due to the lack of a solvent.  This makes plastisol ink printing cheaper, but there are some drawbacks as well.  Plastisol inks need to cure to set the print and that process makes the ink tougher and less flexible.  Water based inks contain a solvent, which is typically water, and that makes it lighter but more susceptible to drying due to evaporation of the solvent.

Since water based silk screen printing inks are less viscous they can print cleanly over seams which makes this type of ink spectacular at all over printing.  Once you add in the ultra soft hand that the prints leave on the garment, you are really cooking with gas!  So if you are interested in having custom water based silk screen printing done by us at AMBRO Manufacturing, you only need to reach out to us to get a project started.  You can easily contact us to place your order or to find out more about us, by email or by giving us a call at (908) 806-8337.
